Structure

PKZ brings together around 200 ordinary members and over 20 supporting members. Ordinary members include people who are professionally involved with herbal practice and medicine, employed in various enterprises and institutions, at higher education and scientific research institutes, and people who have their own herbal farms. The supporting members are composed of enterprises which work within the areas of cultivation, processing, and the trade of herbal products.

PKZ is a “voluntary, self-governing, fixed, non-profit association” which operates according to the regulations set by “the Associations Act”. The Executive Board of PKZ is composed of members who represent various domains of herbal practice and different regions of herbal practice in Poland. From the members of the Executive Board, five members form a Presidium of the Executive Board.

The Executive Board meetings are held once every quarter. During each quarter, the Presidium and the Executive Board’s office continue their activities. The duties of PKZ proscribed by the statutes are carried out by three sections: Raw Materials, Industry and Trade, Research and Development. Each of these sections work independently. Additionally, the Polish Herbal Committee has an Expert Council which serves as an advisory unit.
